Offered:  September 30 - October 18, 2019 & January 21 - February 7, 2020
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The NBOA Long-Range Financial Model is an easy-to-use, customized ten-year budget model, created as an Excel spreadsheet. It also creates real-time forecasts for tuition, enrollment, FTEs, plant replacement and more. Participants should expect to spend approximately four hours per week on this course.

COURSE FORMAT
In this class, business officers will:
  • Learn about the benefits of long-range modeling and how it may be used to guide your school for the long term.
  • Experiment with the modeling tool and receive instructions on loading the model and the assumptions you will need to make.
  • Receive coaching on using the reporting and graphing tools to make presentations to the Head of School, Finance Committee and other trustees.
PARTICIPANT FEEDBACK
The business model provided is a powerful means of seeing the effect of decisions on all dimensions of the school.  It is a tool that should be in the "toolbox" of every independent school CFO and Business Manager."
