
American Sign Language - Intermediate II
All Genders Course; Prerequisite - Successful completion of at least three years of high school ASL; Full Year Course
Course Overview
In Intermediate II, students continue their journey into the Deaf World by expanding their foundational knowledge of conversational ASL and deepening their understanding of Deaf culture. This course reinforces fingerspelling and numerical skills while introducing new vocabulary and grammatical structures. Students explore a variety of real-world topics, including residences and communities, scheduling, and social activities, as well as finances and the workplace, wellness and fitness, and travel destinations. Cultural aspects of the Deaf community are seamlessly integrated into the lessons, enhancing both linguistic and cultural competence. Upon completion of this course, students are ready for American Sign Language – Advanced I.
Course Approval
This course is approved by the NCAA.
One Schoolhouse is fully accredited with the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges through December 1, 2025. We are an approved online publisher for the University of California.
