One Schoolhouse Student Course Faculty
The One Schoolhouse community is focused on creating the best opportunities possible for students and teachers. We love to work with teachers who have an exceptionally positive outlook, strive always to see the best in every situation, and have a growth mindset. The experience of teaching with One Schoolhouse often propels teachers into leadership opportunities beyond their work with us. To learn more about our beliefs about teaching and learning, read our pedagogy white paper or check out our learning innovation blog.
One Schoolhouse is seeking teachers from all disciplines to teach our online student courses. We value the unique perspectives of our students, and we design highly personalized, inclusive, interactive courses to serve an increasingly diverse student population. Teachers should expect to spend time each day during the school year moderating discussions, answering questions, and adjusting assignments, with an expected time commitment of 8-10 hours per week. Relationships and feedback are cornerstones of students’ success. As such, we expect that teachers are able to cultivate meaningful relationships with a diverse student body. Teachers have a 24-hour turnaround time for responding to students and a 5-day feedback window. If time management or building relationships are not your strengths, then this is not the job for you. All One Schoolhouse courses are refreshed and fully built out by the teachers during the summer before school opens. A full set of expectations is provided to successful candidates in the One Schoolhouse Employee Handbook and through the required New Teacher Training Course, but you will not be hired until we know our needs next summer. When applying, please indicate which existing courses you are interested in teaching for One Schoolhouse. A full list can be found on the One Schoolhouse website.
