Multivariable Calculus

Girls Only & All Genders Course; Full Year Course

Prerequisite - Successful completion of AP® Calculus BC or equivalent

Course Overview

This year-long course covers a typical college-level Calculus III curriculum, including vectors and vector-valued functions, curves and surfaces in space, partial derivatives and gradients, multiple integration, line and surface integrals, and fundamental theorems of calculus for multivariable functions (Green’s, Divergence, and Stokes’s Theorems). Built on a foundation of sophisticated problem solving, the course features 3D visualization and model-building activities that help students develop their geometric intuitions about doing calculus in higher dimensions. Students extend their understanding of single-variable calculus to three-dimensional space, building facility with multivariable functions and vector calculus through rigorous problem-solving and applications to science and engineering.

“I’m learning a lot of new topics that I never thought about. Some of the topics are logical thinking, which is going to help me generally in life because not everything is a math problem where you have to solve for X.”
