We are happy to announce the exciting news that the Independent Curriculum Group will become a part of One Schoolhouse on July 1, 2019.
The Independent Curriculum Group (ICG) has a decade long history for school-created, mission-aligned, student-focused learning experiences. Over 200 independent and public schools have been part of the ICG community, and ICG events, webinars, podcasts, and newsletter have become staple resources for forward-thinking educators across the world.
Sound familiar? You could say the same about the work of One Schoolhouse. Our missions and work are aligned and complementary.
Both ICG and One Schoolhouse have worked hard to keep access to resources and programs affordable to all kinds of schools. We want the best ideas, practices, programs, and classes available for the benefit of all students, everywhere. By combining forces, we can grown offerings and support for schools without duplicating operations -- we can focus on our mission more. And, mission matters most.
Why are the ICG and One Schoolhouse combining?
What is going to change?
We are very excited by this development, and we hope that you are, too. The combined resources and expertise of the ICG and One Schoolhouse, with missions closely aligned toward supporting schools and providing extraordinary professional learning for educators, will make for an invaluable resource for schools and educators committed to the transformation of learning.
Current ICG members also have the opportunity to join One Schoolhouse at a reduced rate between now and June 30, 2020. Email us at [email protected] for more information.

Why are the ICG and One Schoolhouse combining?
- Expanded resources for academic leaders. Both the Independent Curriculum Group and One Schoolhouse have created valuable resources for academic leaders. Combining these resources allows us to expand topics covered to include: assessment, change management, curriculum development, new teacher mentoring and orientation, school schedules, comment writing, academic honesty, moving “beyond” standardized curricula, and more.
- Increased opportunities to engage. The combination increases the ways that school leaders can engage with an expanding array of resources: podcasts, webinars, online courses. blog post, ebooks, and more.
- More Peter Gow. By working together, we can amplify the most meaningful work that our organizations and Peter do for the benefit of academic leaders worldwide. Combining One Schoolhouse and ICG allows us to avoid for the elimination of administrative duplication and focus our resources on our mission, allowing for more meaningful work to be done, particularly by Peter for the benefit of the academic leaders worldwide.
What is going to change?
- Right Now: Not much. You can continue to go to the ICG website and find the free resources, ideas, and inspiration you need.
- Over the Next Twelve Months: Existing ICG resources will migrate over to the One Schoolhouse website while we continue to create new, free resources to support school leaders. None of the free resources created by the ICG—materials, e-books, webinars, or podcasts—will ever go away.
