Schools may be in a position where they need their teachers to manage learning from a distance. The goal of this course is to help teachers prepare for this potential. By the end of this course, teachers will sketch a plan for how they will manage learning from a distance and identify tools they can use to keep learning going when school is closed. No tech savviness is required: this course is for ALL teachers, and we want teachers to keep things as simple as possible so that families feel confident in the schools’ action plan and teachers’ feel empowered to support their students’ learning when school has to close unexpectedly.

COURSE FORMAT
Teachers will be guided through a one-week long, online course. You should know that this course will take about four hours to complete. This course is run asynchronously, so there is no fixed time when you must participate online. However, participants will need to complete coursework within the given week.
The course will begin with an introduction to the learning management system. Then, we will be introduced to research and resources on best practices for educational continuity in crisis situations. Throughout the course, participants will connect and collaborate with each other through interactive media, including short videos and discussion boards.
