Director of Student Support

The Director of Student Support is directly responsible for managing and supporting student experience and information in school year and summer academic programs. The Director works directly with students, school advisors, and parents on student progress and performance. Roles and responsibilities for the Director of Student Support include:

  • Provide Student Support. Responsibility for providing direct support to students, including performance updates, individual case management of student issues, and technology support. This includes having the ability to work outside of normal business hours for case management.
  • Communication with Constituents. Responsibility for communicating with school advisors and parents. This includes assessing components of student support that can be automated and creating automation.
  • Manage Student Records. Overall management of student academic records, including proofing and review of quarterly report cards, managing communications and filing of report cards and transcripts, and processing student enrollments.
  • Academic Student Experience. Review student progress, analyze associated data, and make recommendations for changes to processes and functions. This includes compiling quarterly student surveys and populating dashboards for analysis, and reviewing LMS & SIS Analytics, and Enrollment Data. Seek to use data to understand and improve the student experience, including a focus on serving our diverse population of students.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Head of School and the Assistant Head of School.

Travel & Physical Requirements
The Director of Student Support will not need to travel more than a few times a year.  The position is located in an office, and thus a successful candidate should be able to work at a computer for long periods of time.  

Location
This is a remote position, though candidates may also work from a central office in Washington, DC. 

Qualifications
A bachelors’ degree is required. A successful candidate will have worked in a school or educational association for at least five years. Independent school experience is preferred. Successful applicants are excellent communicators across a variety of mediums, and are proficient in a range of computing skills.

Reporting
This position reports to the Assistant Head of School, Academics.

Status
Full-time, exempt position 

​Compensation Package
Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000
Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible to participate in the School’s 403(b) plan, and health and dental plans. Full-time employees are encouraged to use their twenty-five PTO days. In addition to annual PTO, the employee will have paid holidays in accordance with the School’s annual calendar.
