DESCRIPTION
In 2021, hiring new teachers will be different -- the process may be fully online (not just an initial Zoom interview). Bringing candidates on campus will be limited or curtailed, so academic leaders need to develop new ways to recruit and evaluate candidates. This course will help deans of faculty, division heads, and department chairs to: 1) craft a new process grounded in the school’s mission and values that defines the objectives of the hire; 2) recruit faculty members successfully from a distance; and 3) evaluate candidates fully online, to the extent necessary.
This course will be facilitated by Brad Rathgeber, the One Schoolhouse Head of School, who has been recruiting and hiring faculty online for the last eleven years. Brad will share tricks of the trade and insights for hiring a faculty member when you never meet them in person.
