DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for teachers who have already begun to design an advanced course that is rigorous and standards-based, yet not standardized. Participants will take a deep dive into the principles and standards of Advanced Independent Curriculum™ to understand how to define their course objectives in alignment with the standards. These explanations will be key to writing the brief “evidence statements” needed for advanced independent curriculum course certification. Interdisciplinary interaction will be a key component for this course as participants consider the work of their colleagues to inform their own professional practice leading to practice aligning to standards in ways that elevate student agency.
