INTRODUCTION TO PERSONALIZED LEARNING

REGISTER
Offered: tbd
Audience: Teachers and Administrators New to Personalized Learning
COURSE DESCRIPTION
What is "personalized learning" and why is it an effective approach for today's classroom?  That's the primary question that this course aims to answer.

Participants in this course will:
  • Explore personalized learning’s capacity to change the nature of both the classroom and the school;
  • Evaluate the usefulness of personalized learning practices for their schools or classrooms;
  • Craft competencies for courses and schools, and design backwards from them;
  • Learn how to give students choice on the pathway to mastery; and
  • Explore how independent schools can capitalize on what we already do best: knowing, understanding, and working with students on a personal level.

COURSE FORMAT
This three-week long course introduces educators to theory, approaches, and models.  We plan to offer courses in the future on the full implementation of personalized approaches. Participants should expect to spend approximately four hours per week on the course.
