DESCRIPTION
When the 2021–22 school year opens, administrators will need to be energized, optimistic, and strategic. Creative leaders will seek to move forward to a new and better version of their school program, not just return to what was. Academic leaders will need to reflect on their experiences over the last two years to identify their professional strengths and needs. Only then can leaders understand how multiple constituencies may have struggled and where they have thrived so that they can encourage colleagues and faculty to pause and engage in a different set of three R’s: reflect, restore, and renew. By recognizing that each community member has a unique set of perspectives, experiences, and coping strategies leaders can encourage moving forward together, united in purpose and informed by the values embedded in their mission and academic philosophy.
This course will guide academic leaders in framing and operationalizing updated institutional priorities and practices to renew school cultures, revitalize learning programs, and realize objectives that embody school values and meet the real, identified needs of students.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAY
"Take the time and truly engage in the self reflection aspect. Many times we as admin don't take time to think about what has impacted us directly, and how we have pushed these aspects of COVID 19 out of our minds. Take the time and decompress and engage in the materials of the course." Ryan Allen, University of Chicago Lab Schools
