DESCRIPTION & OUTCOMES
School leaders must be prepared for a variety of scenarios for Fall 2020; any scenario planning needs to include the ability for schools and families to toggle back-and-forth between being on-campus and online. The Academic Leadership for Hybrid Learning Design course prepares leaders to make critical decisions regarding implementing a hybrid learning instructional program, that allows schools and students to toggle between on-campus and online instruction. We share strategies for aligning resources, ensuring academic continuity, and planning faculty professional learning. School leaders build a plan to approach hybrid learning for their school community drawing upon One Schoolhouse’s best practices for online learning, including establishing course standards, designing courses to meet those standards, and establishing teaching competencies in delivering these courses. Best practices for adult learning are modeled throughout the course.

- Complete readiness checklists for hybrid learning;
- Lead a team in aligning resources and strategies for hybrid learning;
- Plan professional learning for faculty; and
- Share plans within the school leadership.
COURSE FORMAT
Administrators will be guided through a three-week long, online course, which will take about four hours per week to complete. This course is run asynchronously, so there is no fixed time when you must participate online. However, participants will need to complete coursework within the given week.
Participants will be introduced to resources on building and implementing high-quality hybrid learning programs. We'll also share our best practices gleaned through years of providing exceptional online instruction. Throughout the course, participants will connect and collaborate with each other through interactive media, including short videos and discussion boards.
