One Schoolhouse is excited to welcome Chewonki, and its Maine Coast Semester program to the consortium. Students at Chewonki now have the opportunity to expand academic opportunities through engagement with flexible, asynchronous online courses.
Chewonki aims for students in the Maine Coast Semester to take charge of their education, cultivating both individual and collaborative approaches to learning. Students leave Chewonki with a stronger sense of ownership of their education, an awareness of their place in nature, and an understanding that they can and should make a positive difference in their world. "Chewonki's vision for learning fits with the competencies that we work to instill in students at One Schoolhouse," said Brad Rathgeber, Head of School at One Schoolhouse. "Students in our online course work to increase academic maturity and engage fully in a diverse and changing world."
