Student Experience
At One Schoolhouse, we understand that students allowed to make choices in their learning have an increased motivation to learn.
One Schoolhouse students learn on their own schedule, choosing a personal pathway through the material, while a shared course timeline keeps them on a weekly pace with and connected to their classmates. Teachers act as active mentors, offering personalized feedback and regular chances to connect. Students, in turn, connect and collaborate meaningfully with their peers.
Dependable Weekly Schedule
Students experience a regular, structured cadence to their learning, taking the following steps toward mastery:
-

Learn
Acquire new concepts through teacher-made videos, interactive pathways, and reading.
-

Practice
Build conceptual understanding and fluency through formative problem sets, tutorials, and hands-on labs.
-

Share
Foster peer-to-peer relationships through asynchronous collaboration and discussion boards.
Intuitive Online Learning Environment
One Schoolhouse classes are brought to you through Canvas, a user-friendly, accessible interface used widely in independent schools and college and university settings. All of our classes are uniformly designed with similar visual queues, identifiable organizational structures, and consistent schedules, so you can focus on the task of learning—not struggling to get the system to work for you.
Personalized Learning Pathways in Practice
Our courses offer multiple ways to learn, tailored to different strengths and interests.
Media: Watch a short, teacher-created lecture video paired with an interactive slide deck.
Textual: Read a primary source document, textbook chapter, or curated article.
Experiential: Navigate a virtual simulation, interactive tutorial, data-visualization tool, or science lab.
Expansive: Take a second or even third pass through core material by exploring additional pathways when reviewing for an assessment or when tackling a particularly challenging topic. Students have access to all pathway options throughout the course.
