TRUSTED EXPERTS IN ONLINE LEARNING

One Schoolhouse has been teaching independent school students online for more than ten years. Our teachers are experienced independent school faculty who go through six months of training and one-on-one coaching to learn best practices and research-driven methods for working with students online. Teaching and learning at One Schoolhouse are different from much of the distance learning happening in response to COVID-19.  Distance learning uses live and recorded video to document what happens in a classroom. Online learning uses a different approach to teaching and learning to explore topics deeply and foster collaboration, creativity, and connection online. At One Schoolhouse, we're passionate about creating extraordinary courses and expanding opportunities for students.

One Schoolhouse courses are designed to be challenging and engaging, just like the classes at your school. We work with experienced and caring independent school teachers to create engaging learning experiences. Our course catalog includes more than 60 courses, including 25 AP and college-level courses; four-year sequences in Chinese, French, Latin, and Computer Science; advanced math courses for students who complete AP Calculus BC; and, specialized topics like Neuroscience, Global Health, and Business and Economics. Students and families consistently cite a wide variety of courses as a major factor in choosing to enroll in independent schools. By partnering with One Schoolhouse, schools add courses without needing to factor in scheduling, staffing, or space-- this allows even small schools to have a broad and diverse range of course that allow students to explore their academic passions and meet the needs of their communities.

"One Schoolhouse has successfully enabled us to expand our computer science offerings. Classroom space, low enrollment, tight schedules, and teacher loads have made it very difficult for our school to add new courses. The courses are excellent and the students are delighted to take them.”
